600 KIDS WILL SHOW THEIR SKILLS TO OPEN THE 22. KARATE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014

World record of 2003 shall be repeated – kids aged 4 to 14 years will present sound karate
Bremen. The 22. Karate World Championships 2014 will create records – not only with the numbers of attending athlets and the general program but also with the opening ceremony: about 600 kids from Bremen, Bremerhaven and the surroundings will join a synchronic show with sound during the ceremony show. The chairmen of the world championships would like to repeat the world record from the European Championships 2003. Also kids without any karate experience can join the show.
„In 2003 we had 600 kids showing a kata“, says the chairman of the OC-Team, Mr. Horst Kaireit; he leads the OC together with Mr. Reiner Zimbalski. Kata is a form of karate with stylized fights against imaginary fighters. It has fixed rules and technics. This time it will be sound karate. „This modern karate is a training with music, cool rhythm and dynamic“, Mr. Zimbalski explains. For the opening ceremony of the World Championships on Friday, 7. November 2014, the kids will rehearse one choreography to show it this evening.
The special of this show will be this time that kids will join the action who are not yet doing any karate in any club or dojo at all. „Our choreography is easy to learn and will be a good start for karate“, says Zimbalski. Therefore a lot of attending associations will offer special actions within their training to welcome new kids who are interested in karate. „This will be a big offer for all kids to find out how fast they can learn and progress within karate“, says Mr. Zimbalski for sure. Not only the sound karate kids will be a highlight of the opening ceremony. Having the three young brothers Aidan, Aaric and Aaron Lück in the show – all of them great kata talents from the dojo Nippon Bremerhaven – there will be another outstanding show representing the coming stars of the German Karate Federation. These young kids will present a synchronic kata with Bunkai, a form of kata in application. Within the Bunkai they will show the kata with real fighters. Everybody will have an idea of all the technics within the fights. Cagri Esen, also a young talent from Nippon Bremerhaven, will complete the kids program of the show.
One more highlight of this event will be a karate show from Italy. Lucio Maurino, former karate world and european champion will be in charge of this part. Together with the GOP-theatre there will be also a show of artistry and cabaret. Conductor of the opening ceremony is the famous Ulrich Thon. He has been – for example – in charge of the ceremony for the 60. birthday of the German Republic and the visit of pope Benedict XVI. in Cologne.
