NOTICIAS WKF/WKF NEWS : WKF IS A RECOGNISED PARALYMPIC SPORT / WKF ES ACREDITADO COMO DEPORTE COMO DEPORTE PARAOLIMPICO

El 12 de junio de 2015, el WKF podrá celebrar un gran éxito: el Comité Paralímpico Internacional (IPC) Junta de Gobierno aceptó la WKF como la disciplina deportiva 30a dentro de la Familia Paralímpica.

El viaje comenzó hace 8 años en Baviera (Alemania) con motivo de la primera “Abrir bávara para las Personas con Discapacidad”. El por entonces presidente del Comité Olímpico Alemán (COA) y actualmente presidente del COI, Thomas Bach asistieron con entusiasmo el evento acompañado por el presidente de la WKF Antonio Espinós. Desde entonces, la WKF ha promovido esta área e implementado con el ex presidente de las Personas con Discapacidad, Wolfgang Weigert, la primera competición de exhibición en los Campeonatos del Mundo de 2012 en París. Este evento inaugural fue un éxito y después de eso, el primer Campeonato Mundial para las Personas con Discapacidad siguió, integrada en el Campeonato del Mundo Senior 2014 en Bremen. Este primer Campeonato Mundial fueron atendidos por un gran número de invitados honorables nacionales e internacionales, tales como el Asesor Especial sobre Deporte para el Desarrollo y la Paz, Willi Lemke, que también destacó la gran actuación de la WKF en esta área. Sobre esta base, la WKF también podría preparar una excelente aplicación con la Junta de Gobierno del IPC.

En el IPC sesión que se celebrará el 14 y 15 de noviembre de 2015, de la Ciudad de México, el reconocimiento de la WKF será ratificado oficialmente, y de aquí en adelante vamos a aspirar a unirse a la mayor brevedad posible el Programa Paralímpico. A partir de este momento, la WKF puede llamarse también un deporte paralímpico.

On 12th June, 2015 the WKF could celebrate for a great success: the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Governing Board accepted the WKF as the 30th sport discipline within the Paralympic Family.

The journey began 8 years ago in Bavaria (Germany) at the occasion of the first “Bavarian Open for Persons with Disabilities”. The by then President of the German Olympic Committee (DOSB) and currently IOC President Thomas Bach attended with enthusiasm the event accompanied by WKF President Antonio Espinós. Since then, the WKF has promoted this area and implemented with the former Chairman for Persons with Disabilities, Wolfgang Weigert, the first demonstration competition at the 2012 World Championships in Paris. This inaugural event was a success and after that, the first World Championships for Persons with Disabilities followed, integrated in the 2014 World Senior Championships in Bremen. This first World Championships were attended by a great number of national and international honourable guests, such as the Special Advisor on Sport for Development and Peace, Willi Lemke, which also highlighted the great performance of the WKF in this area. On this basis, the WKF could also prepare an excellent application to the IPC Governing Board.

At the IPC Session which will be held on 14th and 15th November 2015 in Mexico City, the recognition of WKF will be officially ratified and hereafter we will aim at joining as soon as possible the Paralympic Programme. From this moment, the WKF can call itself also a Paralympic Sport.
