Más de 800 competidores de no menos de 67 países de todo el mundo están registrados para participar en el Karate 1-Series A este fin de semana

La edición 2017 del Karate 1-Series A comienza este fin de semana en Toledo (España) ya que los mejores atletas de todo el mundo están dispuestos a luchar por el oro en un evento que destaca el excepcional nivel de competencia en el Karate internacional.

El primero de los cuatro eventos del Karate 1-Series A este año se celebrará este fin de semana en Toledo (España). El Karate 1-Series A complementa la Karate 1-Premier League y da a los karatekas de todo el mundo la oportunidad de aumentar su posición en una serie de eventos emocionantes y anticipados que indican la universalidad de los torneos de alto nivel de Karate. Después de Toledo, el Karate 1-Serie A se detendrá en Estambul (Turquía), Salzburgo (Austria) y Okinawa (Japón).

Más de 800 competidores de no menos de 67 países de todo el mundo están registrados para participar en el Karate 1-Series A este fin de semana. Este conteo, que continúa el notable aumento de la participación en los eventos de Karate 1-Premier League este año, demuestra el creciente interés que los eventos de Karate de primera clase reciben en todo el mundo.

LAS ESTRELLAS LOCALES ESPERAN QUE TENGAN ÉXITO EN CASA

Los aficionados al karate que van a Pabellón Javier Lozano Cid Sala de deportes en Toledo este fin de semana tendrán sus ojos puestos en los principales competidores españoles que apuntan a utilizar el factor de suelo de casa en su favor. Es el caso de Karate Stars y los líderes del ranking mundial Damian Quintero y Sandra Sánchez. Los dos ases de Kata son los favoritos de los fans más grandes y tratarán de tomar el oro delante de su familia y amigos.

Sandra Sanchez apunta a su quinta medalla en cinco eventos este año tras sus dos medallas de oro en Karate 1-Premier League Dubai y el Campeonato de Europa y sus dos bronces en Karate 1-Premier League Rotterdam y París. En el otro lado del tatami, el Gran Ganador Terryana D’Onofrio de Italia y la campeona Panamericana Sakura Kukomai de Team USA están entre los más de 80 atletas con la esperanza de obtener oro en la categoría.

Damian Quintero ha reclamado dos oros este año, en Karate 1-Premier League Dubai y el Campeonato de Europa y tratará de ampliar su dominio en la categoría de movimientos coreográficos. Más de un centenar de karatekas que están registrados para participar en la categoría masculina Kata esperanza de destronar el líder del ranking mundial.

España presenta la mayor delegación en Toledo con nada menos que 165 competidores inscritos para participar. Italia con 74 karatekas y Francia con 35 atletas también estarán altamente representados en la ciudad española.

GRANDES NOMBRES INTENTAN HACER SU MARCA EN TOLEDO

Los medallistas de los Campeonatos del Mundo y los mejores competidores también están listos para causar sensación en la ciudad española. En Kumite Femenina -50kg, la medallista de bronce Bettina Plank de Austria y la medallista de plata del Campeonato de Europa Duygu Bugur de Alemania estarán entre los delanteros, mientras que el Gran Ganador 2016 Syakilla Salni Jefry Krishnan de Malasia y la vicepresidenta de Campeonatos del Mundo Valeria Kumizaki de Brasil tomará sus oportunidades en Kumite Femenina -55kg.

Como la categoría femenina Kumite + 68kg está en juego con los líderes de la clasificación ausentes del evento, 2016 Grand Winner Ingrida Suchankova de Eslovaquia y la campeona europea Jovana Prekovic de Serbia actúan como los principales favoritos en Kumite Femenino -61kg. La condición de corredor delantero en Female Kumite -68kg cae en 2016 Grand Winner Elena Quirici de Suiza.

Uno de los grandes capturadores de la atención este fin de semana en Toledo será el Karate Star Douglas Brose. El dos veces campeón del mundo y defensor de la medalla de oro panamericana de Brasil llega a la ciudad española con la esperanza de gobernar el macho Kumite -60kg categoría. El gran ganador Emad Al-Malki de Arabia Saudita y el esperanzado Matias Gómez estarán entre sus rivales.

En masculino Kumite -67kg, el Gran Ganador Vinicius Figueira de Brasil, el Campeón del Mundo de medallistas de bronce Andrés Madera de Venezuela y el campeón del mundo Jordán Thomas de Inglaterra son los principales nombres en la búsqueda de oro, mientras que el Kumite Masculino -75kg y Kumite Masculino- Las categorías de 84kg estarán abiertas para sorpresas.

El iraní Sajad Ganjzadeh, actual campeón africano y el gran ganador Morgan Moss de Sudáfrica, Achraf Ouchen, de Marruecos, y la campeona europea Simone Marino, de Italia, figuran entre los favoritos del espectacular Kumite Masculino + 84kg.

LOCAL STARS HOPE TO SUCCEED AT HOME

Karate fans going to Pabellon Javier Lozano Cid Sports hall in Toledo this weekend will have their eyes set on Spanish top competitors who aim at using the home ground factor in their favour. That is the case of Karate Stars and World ranking leaders Damian Quintero and Sandra Sanchez. The two Kata aces are the biggest fan favourites and will try to take gold in front of family and friends.

Sandra Sanchez aims at her fifth medal in five events this year following her two golds in Karate 1-Premier League Dubai and the European Championships and her two bronzes in Karate 1-Premier League Rotterdam and Paris. On the other side of the tatami, Grand Winner Terryana D’Onofrio of Italy and Pan American champion Sakura Kukomai of Team USA are among the over 80 athletes hoping to get gold in the category.
