En solo una semana, los mejores jóvenes karatekas del mundo se juntarán en una edición histórica y récord del Campeonato Mundial de Cadetes, Junior y Sub21. Mientras las futuras estrellas del deporte se preparan para debutar en el evento que se realizará en Tenerife, los jóvenes competidores están poniendo sus ojos en la corona mundial; las apuestas son aún más altas en la competencia juvenil ya que la clasificación para los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud también estará en juego.

La décima edición del Campeonato Mundial de Cadetes, Junior y Sub21 se realizará en Tenerife del 25 al 29 de octubre. Más de 1700 competidores de 109 países confirmaron su participación en el evento. El torneo que tendrá lugar en el pabellón deportivo Santiago Martin en la idílica ciudad de las Islas Canarias está preparado para romper todos los récords de organización y participación y tiene como objetivo crear una nueva era del deporte para los jóvenes karatekas.

ATLETAS CAMINO  A LOS JUEGOS OLÍMPICOS JUVENILES

Los Campeonatos mundiales de Cadete, Junior y Sub21 de 2017 tendrán aún más relevancia si es posible ya que Tenerife será una de las principales paradas en la carrera hacia Buenos Aires 2018. Los puntos que se asignarán en la competición junior en Tenerife jugarán un papel fundamental en la búsqueda de jóvenes atletas para ocupar los primeros puestos en las Posiciones Olímpicas de la WKF. Este ranking dará a los prometedores karatekas la oportunidad de obtener los boletos para los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud.

Todos los ojos se establecerán luego en los atletas que participan en las categorías junior kumite. La búsqueda de Buenos Aires 2018 llamará la atención de los fanáticos el jueves y el viernes cuando se proclamarán los medallistas y nuevos campeones del mundo elegibles para participar en los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud.

Las potencias del deporte tratarán de mostrar su potencial colocando a sus mejores representantes en la carrera hacia Buenos Aires 2018. Egipto, Japón e Indonesia dominaron las categorías kumite de las competiciones Cadete y Junior hace dos años en la edición 2015 del evento en Yakarta después de ganar tres medallas de oro respectivamente.

In just one week, the best young karatekas in the world will gather in a historic and record-breaking edition of the World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships. As the future stars of the sport are getting ready to make their debut in the event to be held in Tenerife, young competitors are setting their eyes on the world crown; the stakes are even higher in the junior competition since the qualification to the Youth Olympic Games will also be at play.

The tenth edition of the World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships will be held in Tenerife from October 25 to 29. Over 1700 competitors from 109 countries have confirmed their participation at the event. The tournament to take place at Santiago Martin sports hall in the idyllic city of the Canary Islands is poised to break all organisation and participation records and is aimed to create a new era of the sport for the young karatekas.

ATHLETES TAKING STEPS TO YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES

The 2017 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships will have even more relevance if possible since Tenerife will be one of the main stops in the race to Buenos Aires 2018. The points to be allocated in the junior competition in Tenerife will play a fundamental role in the quest of young athletes to take the top positions in the WKF Olympic Standings. This ranking will give the hopeful promising karatekas the opportunity to get the tickets to the Youth Olympic Games.

All eyes will be then set on athletes participating in the junior kumite categories. The quest to Buenos Aires 2018 will catch the attention of fans on Thursday and Friday when the medallists and new world champions eligible to take part in the Youth Olympic Games will be proclaimed.

The powerhouses of the sport will try to show their potential by placing their top representatives in the race to Buenos Aires 2018. Egypt, Japan and Indonesia dominated the kumite categories of the Cadet and Junior competitions two years ago at the 2015 edition of the event in Jakarta after winning three gold medals respectively.
