Important Information about participation in the international Karate tournaments unsanctioned by the WKF

Dear WKF Referees and Judges,

As you know, effective 1^st January 2017, Referees and Judges holding WKF or Continental licenses may not officiate international Karate tournaments unsanctioned by the WKF that by their name can be confused with World or Continental Championships by using names containing the word “world” or naming the continent.

(Above does not apply for single style tournaments provided that these are not named World or Continental Championships or World or Continental Cups).

The following tournament falls into the category inconsistent with participation of WKF or WKF Continental licensed Referees and Judges:

The competition named “The 9^th World Shotokan Karate championships Istanbul” organized by the WSF (former WSKU) that will be held in Istanbul on the 20.-22. April 2018 at the Hawtorn By Wyhdam Hotel, Turan Sport hall.

The above mentioned tournament is not sanctioned by WKF and its name is in contradiction to the WKF policy for WKF Referees/Judges officiating in this tournament will preclude continued function as a WKF or WKF Continental Federation Official.

Estimados árbitros y jueces de la WKF,

Como saben, a partir del 1 de enero de 2017, los árbitros y jueces con licencia WKF o continental no podrán oficiar torneos internacionales de karate no sancionados por la WKF que por su nombre puedan confundirse con campeonatos mundiales o continentales utilizando nombres que contengan la palabra “mundo” o denominación el continente.
(Más arriba no se aplica a los torneos de estilo único, siempre que estos no se denominen Campeonatos Mundiales o Continentales ni Copas Mundiales o Continentales).

El siguiente torneo entra en la categoría que no concuerda con la participación de los árbitros y jueces con licencia WKF o WKF Continental:
La competencia nombrada “El 9 ° Campeonato Mundial de Karate Shotokan Estambul” organizada por el FSM (ex WSKU) que se celebrará en Estambul el 20.-22. Abril de 2018 en el Hawtorn By Wyhdam Hotel, Turan Sport hall.

El torneo mencionado anteriormente no está sancionado por la WKF y su nombre está en contradicción con la política de la WKF para la WKF. Los árbitros / jueces que ofician en este torneo impedirán que continúe funcionando como Oficial de la Federación Continental WKF o WKF.
