El Congreso de la Federación Europea de Karate vio una solidaridad impresionante entre sus miembros, ya que las partes interesadas de la federación continental aprobaron iniciativas clave para el progreso de la organización en la reunión anual que se celebró en Novi Sad (Serbia).

Los delegados de 41 federaciones nacionales se reunieron en Novi Sad (Serbia) donde EKF celebró su sesión plenaria anual. Los puntos clave en la agenda vieron al Congreso aprobar diferentes informes, desde asuntos financieros hasta problemas técnicos. Se presentó una presentación sobre los Juegos Europeos 2019 en Minsk, mientras que las Comisiones EKF mostraron diferentes iniciativas para expandir aún más el deporte en toda Europa.

El calendario de la competencia EKF también fue delineado; los organizadores de los siguientes Campeonatos Europeos Cadete, Junior y Sub-21, que se celebrarán en Aalborg (Dinamarca), y los Campeonatos Europeos Senior de 2019 que se celebrarán en Guadalajara (España) dieron un informe de progreso a la sesión plenaria. Los próximos torneos continentales también fueron nombrados, completando así el plan de eventos codiciados para los próximos cinco años. De acuerdo con este programa, los Campeonatos Europeos Senior 2021 se llevarán a cabo en Suecia, mientras que los Campeonatos Cadete, Junior y Sub-21 2023 irán a Chipre.

El presidente de EKF, Antonio Espinós, agradeció a todos los miembros por su esfuerzo colectivo y reflexionó sobre el desarrollo del Karate en Europa en los últimos años. “Me gustaría decir que todos los logros de EKF fueron, son y serán el resultado del esfuerzo compartido y la dedicación de todos los miembros de la familia de EKF. Quiero agradecer a todos los miembros de EKF por su apoyo, y espero que sigamos trabajando juntos para el éxito continuo de nuestro deporte “, dijeron EKF y el presidente de la WKF, Antonio Espinós.

“Sin embargo, no debemos ser complacientes; no debemos centrarnos en lo que ya hemos logrado, sino en todo lo que todavía tenemos que lograr. Tenemos un futuro brillante por delante y muchos objetivos aún por alcanzar “, agregó el Sr. Espinós.

El Congreso de la EKF se celebró en Novi Sad la víspera del Campeonato de Karate Senior de 2018. La 53ª edición del torneo continental se celebrará en la ciudad de Serbia del Norte, donde los mejores atletas europeos competirán por el oro del 10 al 13 de mayo.

GREAT UNITY ON EKF CONGRESS

The Congress of the European Karate Federation saw an impressive solidarity amongst its members as the stakeholders of the continental federation approved key initiatives for the progress of the organisation at the annual meeting which was held in Novi Sad (Serbia).

Delegates from 41 national federations gathered in Novi Sad (Serbia) where the EKF celebrated its yearly plenary session. The key points on the agenda saw the Congress approve different reports, from financial matters to technical issues. A presentation on the 2019 European Games in Minsk was introduced, while the EKF Commissions showed different initiatives to further expand the sport all over Europe.

The EKF competition calendar was also outlined; the organisers of the next Cadet, Junior & U21 European Championships, to be held in Aalborg (Denmark), and the 2019 Senior European Championships to be celebrated in Guadalajara (Spain) gave a progress report to the plenary session. The upcoming continental tournaments were also appointed, thus completing the coveted events plan for the next five years. According to this programme, the 2021 Senior European Championships will be held in Sweden while the 2023 Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships will go to Cyprus.

EKF President Antonio Espinós thanked all the members for their collective efforts and reflected on the development of Karate in Europe in the last years. “I would like to say that all the EKF’s achievements were, are and will be the result of shared effort and the dedication of all the EKF’s family members. I want to thank all the EKF’s members for their support, and I hope that we continue working together for the continued success of our sport,” said EKF and WKF President Antonio Espinós.

“However, we must not be complacent; we should not focus on what we have already achieved but on all that we still have to accomplish. We have a bright future ahead of us and many goals yet to reach,” added Mr. Espinós.

The EKF Congress was held in Novi Sad on the eve of the 2018 Senior Karate Championships. The 53rd edition of the continental tournament will be hosted in the city of Northern Serbia where top European athletes are set to compete for gold from May 10-13.
