FISU WORLD UNIVERSITY KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

La ciudad de Kobe en Japón acoge la 11ª edición del Campeonato Mundial de Karate Universitario FISU. Jóvenes atletas de todo el mundo viajan a la nación natal del deporte para demostrar sus habilidades y enfrentarse a la corona de reyes y reinas del Karate a nivel universitario.

La competencia comenzará el jueves 19 de julio con las primeras categorías en juego. El torneo continuará el viernes y el sábado, y todos los combates y finales de bronce están programados para el domingo. El evento tendrá lugar en el gimnasio central de Kobe en la capital de la prefectura de Hyōgo.

Se espera que los karatekas de primera clase a nivel universitario compitan en Kobe en una celebración del impacto del deporte en edades tempranas. Los competidores locales llamarán la atención de los fanáticos, ya que los anfitriones de Japón intentarán continuar dominando los principales eventos internacionales de Karate.

La última edición del Campeonato Mundial de Karate de la Universidad FISU se celebró hace dos años en Braga (Portugal). Cerca de 300 atletas de 35 países participaron en el evento. Japón encabezó la tabla de medallas de la competencia con nueve medallas, incluyendo cinco de oro. Representantes de Egipto y Francia también se presentaron en un alto nivel con 13 y 7 medallas respectivamente. Las mejores karatekas como la egipcia Giana Lotfy, la francesa Alizee Agier, Steven Dacosta y Emilie Thouy y las españolas Matías Gómez y Rocío Sánchez estuvieron entre los atletas coronados en Braga.

YOUNG KARATEKAS CLASH FOR GLORY AT FISU WORLD UNIVERSITY KARATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The city of Kobe in Japan hosts the 11th edition of the FISU World University Karate Championships. Young athletes from all over the world are travelling to the birth nation of the sport to demonstrate their abilities and to clash for the crown of kings and queens of Karate at university level.

The competition is set to start on Thursday, July 19th with the first categories at stake. The tournament will continue Friday and Saturday, and all the bronze medal bouts and finals are scheduled to be held on Sunday. The event will take place at Kobe Central Gymnasium in the capital city of the Hyōgo Prefecture.

First-class karatekas at university level are expected to compete in Kobe in a celebration of the impact of the sport in young ages. The local competitors will catch the attention of fans as hosts of Japan will try to continue their domination of major international Karate events.

The last edition of the FISU World University Karate Championships was held two years ago in Braga (Portugal). Nearly 300 athletes from 35 countries participated at the event. Japan topped the medal table of the competition with nine medals including five golds. Representatives of Egypt and France also performed at a high level with 13 and 7 medals respectively.
