NOTICIAS WKF / WKF NEWS: WKF PRESIDENT MEETS MEMBERS IN OCEANIA

Cuando el Presidente de la WKF, Sr. Antonio Espinos, visitó Oceanía con motivo de la 16 ª Campeonato de Karate Oceanía  en Suva (Fiji) su presencia no fue sólo significativa para karatekas y miembros de la Federación de Oceanía Karate, también proporcionó una oportunidad para NF Presidentes y oficiales, árbitros, entrenadores y atletas para reunirse con el presidente de la WKF en persona.

El gobierno de Fiji también reconoció su presencia, ya que no es común que un presidente de una Federación Mundial para visitar Oceanía, en particular, las islas del Pacífico, como Fiji.

Sr. Espinos llegó a Suva, la capital de Fiji en la tarde del miércoles 10 de septiembre y se le concedió una tradicional ceremonia de bienvenida de Fiji el jueves 11 de septiembre por los habitantes de Fiji, antes de abrir el Congreso OKF de la tarde.

Su presencia en el Seminario Técnico temprano en la mañana para dirigirse a los árbitros, entrenadores y atletas de alto nivel en la Casa Olímpica Fiji fue un momento muy especial, a todos los asistentes ya que estos tres grupos juegan un papel muy importante en la creación y el mantenimiento de la imagen positiva del Karate al público, así como el desarrollo del deporte. Por lo tanto, un entendimiento común entre estos tres grupos de las Reglas y Reglamentos que rigen la WKF Karate tendrá el deporte un largo camino en armonía.

Sr. Antonio Espinos en su calidad de la cortesía Mundial de Karate Federación Presidente también rindió llama al Ministro de Deportes, Sr. Viliame Naupoto y el miembro del COI en Fiji, el Dr. Robin Mitchell quien también es el presidente del Comité Olímpico Nacional de Oceanía (ONOC). También se reunió con la Asociación de Deportes de Fiji y presidente del Comité Olímpico Nacional (FASANOC), Sr. Reg Sanday antes de la ceremonia de apertura el viernes 12 de septiembre 2014.

Su presencia y la asistencia a los miembros hablaron volúmenes OKF, así como a las autoridades deportivas y el Ministerio de Deportes aquí en Fiji. Es muy importante, especialmente cuando OKF se extiende sobre el vasto Océano Pacífico que los miembros OKF escuchados por el Presidente de la WKF a sí mismo que OKF es una de las cinco Federaciones Continentales de la Federación Mundial de Karate y aunque nuestra expansión geográfica y los altos costos de viajes pueden hacer que uno se sienta aislado OKF sigue siendo un miembro de la familia más grande y Mundial de Karate.

En nombre de los miembros de Karate Fiji, el Gobierno y el pueblo de Fiji, y miembros OKF, me gustaría de nuevo las gracias al Presidente de la WKF, Sr. Antonio Espinos por tomarse el tiempo para experimentar de manera personal los retos únicos de Oceanía en nuestro esfuerzo por desarrollar nuestra competencia y contribuir positivamente al desarrollo de Karate en Oceanía como una Federación Continental de la Federación Mundial de Karate.

When the WKF President, Mr Antonio Espinos, visited Oceania on the occasion of the 16th Oceania Karate Championship held in Suva (Fiji) his presence wasn’t only meaningful to karatekas and members of the Oceania Karate Federation, it also provided an opportunity for NF Presidents and Officials, Referees, Coaches and Athletes to meet with the WKF President in person.

The government of Fiji also acknowledged his presence as it is not common for a President of a World Federation to visit Oceania in particular the Pacific Islands, like Fiji.

Mr Espinos arrived in Suva, the capital of Fiji on the evening of Wednesday 10th September and was accorded a traditional Fijian welcome ceremony on Thursday 11th September by the Fijians, before he opened the OKF Congress in the afternoon.

His presence at the Technical Seminar earlier in the morning to address the Referees, Coaches and senior athletes at the Fiji Olympic House was a very special moment, to all in attendance as these three groups play a very significant role in creating and maintaining the positive image of the Karate to the public as well as the development of the sport. Therefore, a common understanding among these three groups of the WKF Rules and Regulations governing Karate will take the sport a long way harmoniously.

Mr Antonio Espinos in his capacity as the World Karate Federation President also paid courtesy calls to the Minister of Sports , Mr Viliame Naupoto and the IOC member in Fiji, Dr Robin Mitchell who is also the President of the Oceania National Olympic Committee (ONOC). He also met with the Fiji Association of Sports And National Olympic Committee President (FASANOC), Mr Reg Sanday before the Opening Ceremony on Friday 12th September 2014.

His presence and attendance spoke volumes to OKF members as well as to sporting authorities and the Ministry of Sports here in Fiji. It is very important especially when OKF is spread over the vast Pacific Ocean that OKF members heard from the WKF President himself that OKF is one of the five Continental Federations of the World Karate Federation and although our geographical spread and high travel costs can make one feel isolated OKF is still a member of the bigger and World Karate family.

On behalf of Karate Fiji members,the Government and people of Fiji,and OKF members, I would like to again thank the WKF President, Mr Antonio Espinos for taking the time to experience in a personal way the unique challenges of Oceania in our effort to develop our competitors and to contribute positively to the development of Karate in Oceania as a Continental Federation of the World Karate Federation.
