El Campeonatos de Europa de 2016 Mayores que tendrá lugar en Montpellier. La ciudad francesa es el anfitrión del evento más alto del deporte en el continente del 5-8 de mayo, cuatro días emocionantes para coronar a los nuevos reyes y reinas de Karate Europeo.

Más de 400 competidores de 46 países están registrados para tomar parte en el evento que tendrá lugar en Montpellier Arena. Se espera que la edición número 51 sea de los mejores campeonatos continentales, ya que algunas de las estrellas más grandes del karate en el continente tratarán de extender su dominio en la competición.
Entre los favoritos para brillar en Montpellier esta el Azerbaiyán Rafael Aghayev tiene como objetivo aumentar su destacada cifra de ocho medallas de oro en campeonatos de Europa, actuando así como una de las principales estrellas del evento. Actual subcampeón en Kumite Masculino + 84kg, Enes Erkan intentará conseguir su tercera medalla de oro en la competición, mientras que Damián Quintero espera alcanzar el podio en la categoría masculina Kata por sexta vez consecutiva.
En las categorías femeninas, la Turca Serap Ozcelik será uno de los nombres a seguir en su búsqueda de su cuarta medalla de oro en kumite femenino -50kg. de España Sandra Sánchez en Femenino Kata, Bettina tablón de Austria en Mujer Kumite -50kg y Alisa Buchinger en femenino kumite -68 kg, y la italiana Sara Cardin en Mujer Kumite -55kg también será una de las Karatekas para captar la atención de los entusiastas del deporte.

Karate athletes from all over Europe are ready to cause a sensation in the 2016 Senior European Championships to be held in Monpellier. The French city is hosting the top event of the sport in the continent from May 5-8, four thrilling days to crown the new kings and queens of European Karate.

More than 400 competitors from 46 countries are registered to take the stage in the event to be held in Montpellier Arena. The 51st edition of the top continental championships is expected to continue the spectacular showdown of the sport, as some of the biggest Karate Stars in the continent will try to extend their domination in the competition.
Among the fan favourites set to shine in Montpellier, Azerbaijan’s Rafael Aghayev aims at increasing his outstanding tally of eight gold medals in European Championships, thus acting as one of the main stars of the event. Current runner-up in Male Kumite +84kg, Enes Erkan will try to clinch his third gold medal in the competition, while Damian Quintero hopes to reach the the podium in Male Kata category for the sixth consecutive time.
