CONGRESO DE LA WKF, MIRANDO HACIA EL FUTURO

La Federación Mundial de Karate celebró su Congreso en Madrid. En el marco del   Campeonato del Mundo de Karate de 2018 , la asamblea general de la organización se reunió en la capital de España para tomar decisiones cruciales sobre el futuro del deporte.

Entre las decisiones que fueron adoptadas por la sesión plenaria del deporte, el Congreso de la WKF decidió confirmar la desafiliación de la Federación de Karate de Polonia y la Federación de Karate de Filipinas, y finalizar la afiliación de Nauru y la Unión de Karate de Polonia. La asamblea general también aprobó el estado de cuentas de la WKF; Se presentaron informes de progreso sobre los próximos Campeonatos del Mundo Senior 2020 en Dubai.

Las sedes de los futuros Campeonatos del Mundo también fueron ratificadas; se confirmó que Santiago de Chile (Chile) albergará los Campeonatos del Mundo Cadete, Junior y Sub-21 2019, y Budapest (Hungría) dará la bienvenida al Campeonato del Mundo Senior 2022. Además, el Congreso acordó otorgar poderes al Comité Ejecutivo de la WKF para decidir la nominación de Ciudad del Cabo (Sudáfrica) como anfitrión del Campeonato Mundial de Cadetes, Júnior y Sub-20 de 2021 una vez que se resuelvan algunos problemas pendientes y las condiciones adecuadas para el evento están garantizados

El Congreso también seleccionó a los nuevos miembros del Comité Ejecutivo de la WKF. La nueva composición del Comité Ejecutivo de la WKF tiene a Ibrahim Al Gannas (KSA), Nasser Alrazooqui (EAU), Toshihisa Nagura (JPN), Jastalap Sanuov (KAZ), Esat Delihasan (TUR), Francis Didier (FRA), Mike Dinsdale (GBR) ), Gunnar Nordahl (NOR), Yrsa Ranki (FIN), Wolfgang Weigert (GER), María Angélica Coronil (CHI), José García Maañón (ARG), José Antonio Méndez (PUR), Béchir Cherif (TUN), Soulemayne Gaye ( SEN), Dieudonné Okombi (COB) y Makarita Lenoa (FIJ) como miembros.

“UN HONOR PARA KARATE Y PARA LA FEDERACIÓN MUNDIAL DE KARATE”

El Congreso comenzó con las sinceras condolencias de la familia Karate al fallecido Tesorero Asistente de la WKF, Arch Brown, quien lamentablemente falleció este año. Por otro lado, el Congreso de la WKF celebró la concesión al presidente de la WKF, Antonio Espinós, de la Orden del Sol Naciente, el Oro y la Estrella de Plata del Gobierno de Japón.

“Este es un honor para el Karate y para la Federación Mundial de Karate. Si pudiera darles una pequeña parte a cada uno de ustedes, lo haría porque este premio es tan tuyo como mío. No eres tú para agradecerme por este honor; Soy el que le agradece por hacer posible que se le otorgue esta decoración “, declaró el Sr. Espinós.

En su informe, el jefe de la Federación Mundial de Karate evaluó el progreso del deporte y los momentos históricos que se lograron en los últimos meses, incluido el debut de la disciplina en los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud en Buenos Aires, el éxito de los eventos organizados. por la WKF y los preparativos previos a la introducción anticipada del deporte en los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio 2020.

KARATE EN LAS MEJORES CONDICIONES DEL DEBUT OLÍMPICO

“Hoy, estamos en las mejores condiciones posibles para hacer nuestro debut olímpico en Tokio 2020”, dijo el Presidente de la WKF. “Hemos concluido la primera participación en los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud con gran éxito. Mostramos la universalidad y el espíritu deportivo del Karate; Nuestros primeros medallistas olímpicos son un hito para nuestro deporte y ya son parte de nuestra historia “, agregó el Sr. Espinós, quien destacó el arduo trabajo de la organización para lograr la inclusión en el programa deportivo de los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud para el 2022. Edición en Dakar.

El jefe de la WKF también se tomó un tiempo en su informe para resaltar los esfuerzos que la organización ha comenzado a hacer para lograr el sueño de estar en el programa de los Juegos Olímpicos de París 2024.

“La WKF tiene un futuro brillante y todos ustedes deben sentirse orgullosos de ser parte de esta organización. Gracias por el arduo trabajo que está realizando para garantizar que sigamos logrando un gran éxito ”, concluyó el Sr. Espinós dirigiéndose a la sesión plenaria.

WKF CONGRESS LOOKING AHEAD TO FUTURE

The World Karate Federation celebrated its Congress today in Madrid. On the eve of the 2018 Karate World Championships starting tomorrow here, the general assembly of the organisation gathered in the capital of Spain to take crucial decisions to the future of the sport.

Among the decisions that were adopted by the plenary session of the sport, the WKF Congress decided to confirm the disaffiliation of the Polish Karate Federation and the Philippines Karate Federation, and to finalise the affiliation of Nauru and the Polish Karate Union. The general assembly also approved the state of accounts of the WKF; progress reports on the upcoming 2020 Senior World Championships in Dubai were presented.

The venues of the future World Championships were also ratified; it was confirmed that Santiago de Chile (Chile) will host the 2019 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships, and Budapest (Hungary) will welcome the 2022 World Senior Championships. Also, the Congress agreed to give powers to the WKF Executive Committee to decide on the nomination of Cape Town (South Africa) as host of the 2021 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships once some pending issues are resolved and the right conditions for the event are guaranteed.

The Congress also selected the new members of the WKF Executive Committee. “AN HONOUR FOR KARATE AND FOR WORLD KARATE FEDERATION”

The Congress started with the heartfelt condolences of the Karate family to the late WKF Assistant Treasurer Arch Brown who sadly passed away this year. On the other hand, the WKF Congress celebrated the concession to WKF President Antonio Espinós of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star by the Japanese Government.

“This is an honour for Karate and for the World Karate Federation. If I could give a small piece to each one of you, I would because this award is as yours and as it is mine. It is not you to thank me for this honour; I am the one thanking you for making possible to be awarded this decoration” declared Mr Espinós.

In his report, the head of the World Karate Federation evaluated the progress of the sport and the landmark moments that were achieved over the last months, including the debut of the discipline in the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, the success of the events organised by the WKF and the preparations ahead of the anticipated introduction of the sport in the Olympic Games of Tokyo 2020.

KARATE IN BEST CONDITIONS FOR OLYMPIC DEBUT

“Today, we are in the best possible conditions to make our Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020,” said the WKF President. “We have concluded the first participation in the Youth Olympic Games with great success. We showed the universality and sporting spirit of Karate; our first Olympic medallists are a milestone for our sport and they are already part of our history,” added Mr Espinós, who stressed the hard work of the organisation to be made towards the inclusion in the sports programme of the Youth Olympic Games for the 2022 edition in Dakar.

The head of the WKF also took time in his report to highlight the efforts that the organisation has started doing to achieve the dream of being in the programme of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

“The WKF has a bright future and all of you should be proud to be part of this organisation. Thank you for the hard work that you are doing to ensure that we continue achieving great success,” concluded Mr Espinós addressing the plenary session.
