La Federación Internacional de Deportes Universitarios (FISU) ha decidido nombrar a Souleymane Gaye, miembro del Comité Ejecutivo de la WKF, de Senegal como nuevo Delegado Técnico para el Karate. El Sr. Gaye, que también actúa como Tesorero General Adjunto en el principal órgano de gobierno de la WKF, se encargará de supervisar los aspectos técnicos de las competiciones de Karate en los principales eventos internacionales para jóvenes de nivel universitario en todo el mundo.

Con más de 40 años de experiencia en el deporte, Souleymane Gaye aportará experiencia y conocimientos a la organización por un período de cuatro años (2017-2021). El Sr. Gaye ha actuado como Vicepresidente Olímpico Nacional de Senegal y Vicepresidente de UFAK, entre muchos otros cargos de alto nivel, y actualmente es también el Presidente de la Comisión de Entusiastas de Atletas de WKF.

La Federación Internacional de Deportes Universitarios (FISU) es la institución encargada de difundir los valores deportivos y promover la práctica deportiva a nivel universitario. Karate debutó en el Campeonato Mundial Universitario en 1998. La próxima edición del Campeonato Mundial de Karate Universitario de la FISU se celebrará en 2018 en Kobe (Japón)

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) has decided to nominate WKF Executive Committee member Souleymane Gaye of Senegal as new Technical Delegate for Karate. Mr. Gaye, who also acts as Assistant General Treasurer at WKF main governing body will be in charge of overseeing the technical aspects of the Karate competitions at the main international events for youngsters at university level around the world.

With over 40 years of background in the sport, Souleymane Gaye will bring experience and insight knowledge to the organisation for a four year-term (2017-2021). Mr. Gaye has acted as Senegalese National Olympic Vice President and UFAK Vice President, among many other high-level positions, and currently is also the Chairman of the WKF Athletes Entourage Commission.

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) is the institution in charge of propagating sport values and promote sports practice at university level. Karate debuted on the World University Championships in 1998. The next edition of the FISU World University Karate Championships will be held in 2018 in Kobe (Japan)
